How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Unqualified - Temp-to-Perm)

    Location: Blackpool
    Setting: Specialist SEND School (Primary & Secondary)
    Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
    Start Date: ASAP

    About the Role

    We are working with a specialist SEND school in Blackpool that is looking to appoint a resilient and empathetic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
    This role is ideal for individuals from backgrounds such as support work, youth work, residential care, or similar, or those with personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs. The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils, so flexibility or preference across either age group is welcomed.
    You'll play a key role in helping pupils regulate emotions, build trust, and re-engage with education.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

    Build strong, consistent relationships to support trust and engagement

    Support behaviour management using de-escalation and positive strategies

    Assist pupils in developing emotional regulation and coping skills

    Support access to learning in and out of the classroom

    Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams

    Provide personal care where required

    Who We're Looking For

    Experience in support work, youth work, residential care, or similar

    Strong behaviour management or de-escalation skills

    Calm, patient, and resilient approach

    Ability to build rapport with pupils who may display challenging behaviour

    A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs

    Open to working across primary and/or secondary settings
