A leading main contractor specialising in property services and social housing refurbishment is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Based from their Hertfordshire head office, you will support the delivery of multiple refurbishment projects across London, working alongside experienced commercial and operational teams on a variety of planned works programmes.

The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will gain exposure to a range of projects and frameworks while working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers.
Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with cost management and commercial reporting across multiple projects

Supporting the preparation and submission of valuations and variations
*
Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management
*
Monitoring project costs and budgets
*
Supporting with final accounts and financial reporting
*
Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered commercially successfully
Projects
You will work across a variety of social housing refurbishment programmes, including:

Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) works
*
Planned refurbishment programmes
*
Cladding remediation projects
*
External and internal improvement works to residential properties
Requirements
*
Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
*
Experience within new build construction, refurbishment, or social housing projects is highly desirable
*
Strong numerical and commercial awareness
*
Good communication and organisational skills
*
Degree or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred but not essential)
