How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Air Conditioning Project Engineer

    Job Type: Full Time (Permanent)
Location: Winchester - Office Based (5 days per week)

    Role Overview

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our client in Winchester.

This role supports the entire project lifecycle, from conducting site surveys and preparing quotations to organising labour, materials, and overseeing project delivery on site.

Initially, you will assist on smaller projects alongside our Contracts Manager and Project Engineer. As your experience develops, you will take ownership of larger commercial and residential projects and manage them independently.

The role involves occasional travel to customer sites for surveys and project meetings. You will also brief installation teams and act as the key link between customers and engineers to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initial site survey to final completion.

    * Conduct site surveys to support accurate and competitive quotations.

    * Prepare and issue quotations to customers.

    * Plan and organise labour, materials, and project resources.

    * Produce and maintain Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

    * Attend project sites to brief installation teams once work is secured.

    * Act as the main point of contact between customers and installation engineers.

    * Monitor project progress and ensure works are delivered on time and to specification.

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

    * Produce Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for customers upon project completion.

    * Maintain clear communication with both internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.

    Requirements

    * Ideally 2+ years' experience within an engineering environment, although engineering graduates with strong motivation to learn will also be considered.

    * Comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers, and engineers via phone, email, and in person.

    * Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    * AutoCAD experience is desirable but not essential. Training can be provided where required.

    * Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team environment.

    * Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

    * Flexibility to attend occasional early or late site meetings or surveys (hours can be taken back in lieu).

    * Primarily office-based in Winchester, with occasional flexibility for home working when required.

    Benefits

    * Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

    * 25 days annual leave

    * Flexible working hours

    * Company van and fuel card

    * No commuting costs from home to the office

    * Van can be taken home each day

    * Supportive and collaborative company culture

    * Professional development and career progression opportunities with mentoring from experienced Contracts Managers and Project Engineers

    * Opportunity to work on exciting projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, and education sectors
