How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Prospero Teaching is currently on the lookout for graduates with a keen interest in education to join a Secondary School in North London. Are you interested in working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school where there may be opportunities to train to teach in the future?

    WHAT DOES THE GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT ROLE INVOLVE:
    * Supporting the class teacher and students during lessons
    * 1 a rapport with 5 - 6 students with specific needs and implementing strategies to nurture, engage and raise attainment in their secondary years
    * 1:1 tuition sessions supporting your subject specialism
    * Running intervention groups in your subject area to build their knowledge of the subject

    WHAT SUPPORT WILL I BE GIVEN AS A GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT?
    * You'll be given training, guidance and support by an experienced consultant at Prospero and our Training and Development Team (all experienced teachers) as well as from the school themselves.
    * A programme of FREE Training and CPD sessions are also offered.

    GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT:

    Full-time school hours, 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.
    You will be required to run an after-school club once a week until 4.30pm and attend a departmental meeting once a week.
