How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Reablement Assistant

    Purpose of the Role

    To provide practical, personal and emotional support to individuals in line with their person-centred support plans, enabling them to maintain independence, develop daily living skills and remain safely within their own homes and communities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support service users with agreed tasks and outcomes identified in their individual support plans.

    Provide personal care, including the safe use of moving and handling equipment in accordance with training and best practice.

    Assist individuals to develop, maintain and improve daily living skills, using appropriate aids and equipment where required.

    Work collaboratively with other professionals and services to reduce risks and support individuals to live safely and independently in their own homes.

    Encourage and support individuals to maximise their independence in areas such as meal preparation, kitchen skills, household tasks, laundry, and personal health care within a safe and supportive environment.

    Work as part of an integrated team with allied health professionals and social care colleagues to provide coordinated support.

    Support the implementation of person-centred support plans and contribute to assessments and review processes when required.

    Promote high standards of care practice, ensuring individuals are treated with dignity and respect and that their independence, cultural, spiritual and religious needs are recognised and valued.

    Maintain accurate and appropriate records, and promptly report any significant changes in a service user’s needs or circumstances to the Line Manager.

    Support and encourage service users to take part in social, recreational and community activities that promote wellbeing and inclusion.

    Be flexible in responding to the changing needs of the service and service users.

    Carry out all duties in accordance with City Council policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice.

    Be prepared to work from different locations across the city as required and follow the standards and working practices of each setting used by the service.

    Contribute to the City Council’s commitment to equality of opportunity and actively promote non-discriminatory practice in all aspects of work.

    Working Hours

    35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

    Essential Requirements

    Experience of supporting individuals in a care or support setting.

    Ability to provide personal care and safely use moving and handling equipment (training may be required/updated).

    Commitment to person-centred practice and promoting independence, dignity and respect.

    Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in partnership with other professionals.

    Good communication and record-keeping skills.

    Flexibility to work across locations within the city as required
