How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Year 1 General Teaching Assistant – Edgware

    We are currently seeking a Year 1 General Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding two-form entry primary school in Edgware after the Easter break. This is a full-time, term-time only position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established KS1 team in a school known for its strong leadership, inclusive environment and high standards of teaching and learning.

    Pay: £105 – £115 per day (dependent on experience)

    Key Responsibilities:

    *

    Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons within the Year 1 classroom

    *

    Providing general classroom support to ensure all pupils remain engaged and on task

    *

    Working with small groups and individual pupils to support learning in phonics, literacy and numeracy

    *

    Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation of learning resources and displays

    *

    Supporting pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum

    *

    Promoting positive behaviour and helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

    *

    Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and classroom activities where required

    Requirements:

    *

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

    *

    Previous experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 1

    *

    A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential

    *

    Strong communication skills and a proactive, supportive approach

    *

    A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development

    This role would suit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with young learners and contributing to a positive classroom environment.
