How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Lecturer – Electrical Installation
    Location: Waltham Forest, London
    Contract: Permanent
    Hours: Full Time – 36 hours per week (approx. 23 contact hours)
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    A well-established Further Education provider in Waltham Forest is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Electrical Installation on a full-time, permanent basis.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical professional to move into teaching or for an existing lecturer to join a supportive and well-equipped department. The role will involve delivering both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based teaching, helping learners develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the electrical industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in Electrical Installation.

    *

    Support learners in developing practical skills within a workshop environment.

    *

    Plan lessons, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback.

    *

    Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.

    *

    Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained in all practical sessions.

    Requirements

    *

    Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

    *

    Ideally hold the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

    *

    Inspection & Testing qualification desirable.

    *

    ECS Gold Card highly desirable.

    *

    Strong industry experience in electrical installation.

    *

    Good communication and organisational skills.

    A teaching qualification is not essential, as teacher training and support can be provided for the right candidate looking to transition from industry into education.
