How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title:              HGV Technician
    Location:              Haydock
    Salary:                   £46,644 - £47,840
    Hours:                   Tuesday to Friday (Nights)
    Shift:                     6pm – 6am / 46hrs
    Overtime:            Available and paid at 1.5X
    Benefits:              Half year and end of year bonus* (*discretionary, OTE £600 each period), PPE and relevant equipment provided, Auto enrolment on company pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer), Flexible working patterns available i.e. M-F and 1 in 2 Saturdays or Mon-Thurs one week and Tues - Fri the next, with Saturday mornings as required on the Friday working week. Enrolment on Simplyhealth Scheme after 3 months service - Approx. £550 worth in benefits if used - plus mental health and well being support

    HGV Technician opportunity

    My client, a well-established fleet maintenance company with depots across the North West is actively seeing to employ an experienced and qualified HGV Technician based out of a depot in the Haydock area to work on a full time permanent basis covering Tuesday to Friday Nights 6pm – 6am.

    Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician
    Required to undertake all aspects of maintenance, routine servicing, mechanical inspections and MOT preparation across a range of HGV’s and trailers
    You will be working on a modern fleet of commercial vehicles to include tractor units and rigid commercial vehicles.Required Skills and Experience for the HGV Technician role:
    Experience gained working within the commercial vehicle sector
    In order to qualify for the role, the successful HGV Technician will ideally have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds).
    You must have detailed experience as an HGV Mechanic and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.
    Welding and Auto Electrical experience would be beneficial but not essential
