How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Assembly Technician | Oxford | £35,000 - £45,000

    My client is a leading organisation in the space sector, known for delivering cutting-edge mission technology and supporting high-profile international space programmes. They are seeking a Senior Assembly Technician to join their team.

    The Role

    As a Senior Assembly Technician, you will play a key role within the Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) function, supporting the build and integration of high-precision space hardware.

    Key Responsibilities

    +Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical components, sub-assemblies, and systems in accordance with technical drawings and work instructions

    +Perform electrical wiring, cable harnessing and connector terminations to recognised industry standards (e.g. IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620)

    +Carry out soldering and rework activities in line with IPC-J-STD-001

    +Create and maintain risk assessments

    +Accurately record test data and complete all required project and quality documentation

    Key Skills and Experience:

    +ONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

    +5–10 years’ experience in a hands-on assembly, integration or test role, ideally within aerospace, defence or electronics

    +Strong practical skills in mechanical fitting, wiring and assembly

    +Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams

    +Experience using hand tools, torque tools and test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes)
