The role operates within multi-year AMP8 frameworks and alliance delivery models responsible for maintaining and upgrading regional water infrastructure. These programmes include capital investment, network resilience improvements, environmental compliance works and reactive maintenance across clean water and wastewater assets.
Blending strategic SHEQ leadership with hands-on operational assurance, the successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects while ensuring regulatory compliance, workforce safety, environmental protection and quality delivery across multiple live worksites and contractor teams.
As Senior SHEQ Advisor you will:
* Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the SHEQ Management System across framework operations.
* Develop and maintain SHEQ strategy aligned with client expectations, UK legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
* Act as the senior SHEQ lead for operational teams, providing expert guidance on compliance and risk management.
* Develop assurance programmes, audit schedules and compliance monitoring processes.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including CDM Regulations, HSE guidance and environmental legislation.

* Report on SHEQ performance trends, KPIs and improvement actions to senior management and client representatives.
Our client is looking for a Senior SHEQ Advisor with:
* Proven experience working as part of a Health & Safety team within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
* IOSH membership (or working towards)
* Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation and CDM Regulations.
* Environmental qualification and/or IEMA membership.
* EUSR / SHEA Water.
Salary/benefits:
