How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Technician - Workshop Mechanic – Join a Leading Engineering Manufacturer

    To 35k

    Are you a skilled Workshop Mechanic with a passion for engineering and precision work? Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join their Production team, supporting the assembly, build and testing of high-quality engines and components.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established engineering company, known for innovation, quality, and a supportive working environment. If you’re practical, hands-on, and want to be part of a team that takes pride in their craft, they want to hear from you.

    What You’ll Be Doing as the Mechanical Technician

    * Assemble, build, repair and modify engines and components to exact specifications.

    * Carry out mechanical builds, testing and inspections in line with company standards.

    * Support continuous improvement by suggesting process and cost-saving improvements.

    * Work collaboratively with workshop teams, quality, sales, and R&D staff.

    * Maintain accurate job records and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.

    * Keep your workspace organised, safe, and compliant with company health & safety policies.

    What they’re Looking For in the Mechanical Technician.

    * Completed Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering (or equivalent qualification).

    * Previous experience in a production or workshop environment.

    * Practical knowledge of 2 and 4-stroke engines (petrol & diesel).

    * Familiarity with marine engines is beneficial (training provided).

    * Good understanding of health & safety regulations.

    * IT literacy for recording test data and job tracking.

    * Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
