How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Geotechnical Engineer

    We're looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support the construction phase of a major infrastructure project. The role involves working as part of a small team, providing technical guidance, and ensuring design intent is correctly applied on site. A regular presence at the project's site offices is required (3 days per week). Site offices are located around Coleshill and Kenilworth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Geotechnical construction phase support, coordinating with technical leads and supporting junior staff.
    Review Inspection and Test Plans, witness selected site tests, and maintain clear, auditable records.
    Manage responses to site queries, field change requests, and non conformance reports, including internal assurance steps.
    Interpret instrumentation and monitoring data and recommend mitigation actions when needed.
    Carry out geological inspections, earthworks logging, and other site-based geotechnical assessments.
    Contribute to concise geotechnical feedback reports and help junior engineers develop their technical skills.
    Find practical solutions to site based design or construction issues.
    Collaborate with site teams and designers.

    Job Details

    6 month initial contract
    Outside IR35
    Pay rate between £350per day - £400 per day
