Supply Desk is working with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Burnham, looking for a dedicated ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism. This full-time role starting in September offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, consistent relationship that truly impacts a child’s development.
The Role

You’ll play a key role in helping a pupil navigate their school day, building trust and creating a safe, structured environment where they can thrive.
Your day might involve:
Providing consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
Helping manage routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
Supporting communication and social development
Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver personalised strategies
Celebrating small wins that lead to big progress
Who This Role Is Perfect For
You’re calm, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with Autism.
You’ll likely:
Have experience working with Autism (ASD) and/or challenging behaviour
Be patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships
Have experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis or within SEN settings
Hold a relevant qualification (Level 2+ or equivalent) – though passion and experience matter most
Be motivated by making a real, lasting difference
