The Role
As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will:
Set and operate CNC turning centres, including tooling selection, offsets, work holding, and safe prove-out of jobs
Work with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi (DMG MORI)
Run multi-axis turning parts to drawing and specification
Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and basic GD&T
Use inspection equipment to complete first-off and in-process checks (e.g., verniers, micrometres, bore gauges) and record results accurately
Respond to alarms, troubleshoot machining/quality issues, and escalate as needed to maintain production
Maintain a safe and tidy workstation, adhering to health & safety standards (5S)
Requirements
Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (Turning) in a production environment (ideally 5+ years)
Competent in using CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi/DMG MORI)
Strong understanding of multi-axis turning
Ability to work independently and reliably on weekend shifts
Attention to detail and good timekeeping
Desirable Skills
Experience with DMG MORI, Citizen, or Fanuc turning centres and/or live tooling
Ability to make minor program edits at the machine
Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives (cycle time reduction, scrap reduction)
Experience working with route cards, SOPs, control plans, and basic SPC
Knowledge of machining a range of materials (steels, aluminium, stainless) and cutting data

Hours: Thursday to Sunday, 11.5-hour day shifts
Pay: £16 - £18 per hour
