How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller | Precision Engineering Excellence
    Location: Hampton Lovett, Worcestershire (WR9 0NX)
    Salary: Competitive & Negotiable (Based on skill) + 1.5x Overtime
    Ready to move beyond repetitive, high-volume manufacturing?
    At Stour Precision Tools, we don’t just "run parts." For 59 years, we’ve built an outstanding reputation for designing and manufacturing bespoke, high-end work-holding solutions—from robotic welding fixtures to intricate end-of-arm grippers.
    We are looking for two skilled CNC Millers who crave variety, enjoy technical challenges, and want to work with everything from small, intricate components to large-scale precision fabrications.
    Why Join Us?
    * True Variety: You’ll produce one-off and low-volume components for jigs and fixtures. No two days are the same.
    * Up-Skilling & Training: Master our Hartford HEP-2150 CNC Double Column Machining Centre and Soraluce FS8000 3+2 axis travelling column machine.
    * Modern Tech: Use OneCNC or Tebis for offline programming and operate high-spec Doosan DNM 500 II and DNM 5700 VMC’s
    * Work-Life Balance: Early finish every Friday (1:00 PM on standard days).
    * Solid Package: 33 days holiday, free on-site parking, and a rewarding overtime structure.
    The Role
    Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the machining process from drawing to finished part. Your day-to-day will include:
    * Programming & Setting: Working with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls.
    * Programming Methods: Direct machine programming from drawings or offline programming from STEP files.
    * Precision Focus: Setting and operating 3-axis machines to tight tolerances.
    * Quality First: Self-inspecting components to ensure they meet our "gold standard" reputation.
    What We’re Looking For
    You are a motivated machinist with a precision engineering background. You should have:
    * Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating (3-axis minimum).
    * The ability to interrogate 3D CAD files and read complex engineering drawings.
    * A "right first time" attitude—essential for one-off precision parts.
    * Ability or potential for machining larger fabrications
    Hours & Flexible Start times and Shift Patterns (for those who prefer this)
    * Standard: Mon-Thu 08:00–17:00, Fri 08:00–13:00 (39 hours). (1 hour flexibility on standard start and finish times)
    * Double-Day Shift: (Occasional if preferred) with a 15% allowance for afternoon-shifts.
    * Mornings: Mon-Thu 06:00–14:30, Fri 06:00–11:00.
    * Afternoons: Mon-Thu 14:00–22:30, Fri 10:30–15:30.
    Apply Today
    If you have a sharp eye for detail and want to work in an environment where your skills are truly valued, we want to hear from you.
    Please forward your CV along with your salary expectations
