Salary: £75-85,000 (Permanent) / Competitive day rate (Consultancy)
Working Hours: Days, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours

The Opportunity:
Reacta Healthcare are looking to recruit a Head of Research and Development, either as a permanent position or, in the interim, on a consultancy basis while the permanent headcount is being recruited.
The interim consultancy role is available for candidates seeking a flexible arrangement, paid at a competitive day rate for a 6-9 month contract.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of R&D will lead Reacta’s pharmaceutical development function with a primary focus on late‑stage development, formulation, process design, validation, and regulatory‑aligned CMC deliverables. The role emphasises development over early‑stage research, ensuring products progress efficiently and compliantly from concept through to commercial readiness.
The position will ensure all R&D activities meet GMP expectations, ICH guidelines, Quality by Design principles, and evolving regulatory requirements.

- Pharmaceutical Product Development Leadership
- Technical Governance and Compliance

- Preparation of the Regulatory Dossier
- Team Leadership and Capability Building
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical product development, including formulation, process development, and preparation of the Regulatory Dossier
- Deep knowledge of GMP, ICH Q8/Q9/Q10, Quality by Design, validation, and regulatory expectations
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams
- Demonstrated success in progressing products through the product development pipeline
- Proven project delivery on-time and in budget
- Strong technical writing skills
- Experience in partnering with external CRO/CMO partners
