How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Title: Kitchen Designer

    Reports to: Head of Creative

    Location: Bristol

    Salary: £30-35k per year (DOE)

    OVERVIEW:

    Welcome to Sustainable Kitchens.

For the past 15 years, we've been on a mission to transform the kitchen industry and to break free from the throwaway culture and fast fashion mentality that has dominated for far too long.

Based in the heart of Bristol, we’re a team of passionate designers, makers, and craftspeople, committed to creating kitchens that stand the test of time. Every piece we build reflects our belief in ethical practices, honest materials, and sustainable living.

Join us in shaping a future where quality, sustainability, and style go hand in hand — because kitchens should be made for life, not landfill.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    Join Our Creative, Sustainability-Focused Team.

We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and experienced Kitchen Designer to become an integral part of our close-knit, creative studio. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven company where sustainability and design excellence go hand-in-hand.

In this client-facing role, you will take ownership of projects from initial consultation and concept development through to final design sign-off. You’ll work closely with clients to bring their vision to life, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead kitchen design projects from start to finish with confidence and creativity
    • Drive sales by understanding client needs, presenting design solutions, and closing deals effectively
    • Conduct client consultations, developing detailed briefs and presenting compelling design concepts
    • Translate client needs and architectural drawings into beautiful, functional, and sustainable kitchen solutions
    • Collaborate with our project management, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless execution
    • Provide an exceptional client experience with clear, confident communication and strong sales skills
    • Prepare detailed quotation packages by coordinating with suppliers of worktops, appliances, and ironmongery to ensure accurate pricing and availability.
    • Provide tailored advice on appliance selection aligned with client briefs, budgets, and energy efficiency standards, ensuring optimal functionality and long-term value.

    What you’ll bring:

    • 3 years of proven experience in high-end kitchen design, with a strong portfolio
    • Excellent communication and client interaction skills
    • A creative mindset paired with a passion for design and architecture
    • Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion
    • Advanced proficiency in SketchUp
    • Excellent design, presentation, conceptual and visualising skills
    • Degree or qualification in a design-related field
    • A can-do attitude, with the ability to work well in a team and autonomously in a fast-paced, vibrant office environment

    What we offer:

    • A supportive and collaborative team culture
    • Exciting, design-driven projects
    • Opportunities for growth and creative input
    • A dynamic workplace where your ideas matter
    • Team social events
    • Holidays - 22 days + Bank Holidays
    • Pension - Employer contribution of 3% of salary through People’s Pension
