How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: CNC Turner Programmer – Fanuc

    Location: Bradford

    Salary: £18 per hour (Early shift) | £22 per hour (Back shift) DOE

    Working Hours:

    Rotating shifts (4 days per week):
    Early Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (5 day Week)
    Back Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM (4 day Week)
    Overtime: Available at x1.5 rate

    Holiday: 23 days plus statutory holidays

    Benefits: Company pension scheme, sick pay (after qualifying period)

    Company Overview:
    Our client is a leading manufacturer in the precision engineering sector, specialising in high-quality couplings and mechanical components. They pride themselves on delivering precision-engineered solutions across a wide range of industries.

    Role Overview:
    As a CNC Turner Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC turning machines (2 & 3 axis) using Fanuc controls. You will produce precision components in batch quantities ranging from 1-offs to medium and high-volume runs (up to 500 or 1000 units). The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
    This position involves a rotating shift pattern, so flexibility and reliability are essential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program, set up, and operate CNC turning machines (2 & 3 axis) with Fanuc controls.
    Produce components in batch quantities, from 1-offs to 500 or 1000 units, depending on the job.
    Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
    Ensure accurate production of parts to customer requirements and deadlines.
    Conduct regular quality checks using precision measurement tools to maintain tolerances.
    Troubleshoot and resolve machine or programming issues as they arise.
    Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
    Work efficiently to meet production targets without compromising quality.
    Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation efforts.
    Skills and Qualifications:

    Proven experience as a CNC Turner Programmer with 2 & 3 axis experience.
    Strong knowledge and experience with Fanuc controls.
    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
    Solid understanding of CNC programming, machining processes, and tooling.
    Experience handling small-batch to high-volume production runs (1-offs up to 500–1000 units).
    Excellent attention to detail and quality-driven mindset.
    Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine issues.
    Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
    Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is advantageous.
    Additional Information:

    Shift-based role: rotating early (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and back (2:00 PM – 12:00 AM) shifts, 4 days per week.
    Pay: £18 per hour (Early shift) | £22 per hour (Back shift), depending on experience.
    Overtime paid at x1.5 rate.
    24 days holiday plus statutory holidays.
    Company pension scheme and sick pay after qualifying period.
