How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Zen Educate is looking for resilient, highly skilled SEN Teachers for a variety of long-term opportunities across both Primary and Secondary settings in Birmingham. Whether you specialise in ASD, SEMH, or PMLD, we have schools in the West Midlands ready to meet you.

As a Social Enterprise, we do things differently. We use technology to cut out the middleman, ensuring Birmingham schools pay less while our SEN Teachers earn significantly more.

    The Opportunities

We are currently recruiting for SEN Teacher positions in:

    *

Primary SEN: Focusing on early intervention, sensory play, and core P-Levels/Engagement Model.

    *

Secondary SEN: Teaching life skills, functional skills, and adapted GCSE curricula.

    *

Specialist Provisions: Working within dedicated SEMH hubs or Alternative Provisions across Birmingham.

Why Join Zen Educate in Birmingham?

    *

Top Daily Rates: Earn between £130 and £260 per day, plus SEN allowances, reflecting your experience and impact.

    *

Ethical Employment: As a Social Enterprise, we don’t charge "buy-out" fees. If a Birmingham school wants to take you on permanently, we won’t stand in your way.

    *

Simple & Fast: Our app allows you to manage your profile and bookings instantly.

    *

Local Impact: Help keep more money in the West Midlands education system rather than in agency pockets.

    The Ideal Candidate

To be successful as an SEN Teacher in these roles, you must have:

    *

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    *

Proven experience as an SEN Teacher within a Primary or Secondary environment.

    *

A "can-do" attitude and the ability to adapt lessons for complex needs.

    *

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
