How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    You know that feeling when a young person who's had a really rough time starts to trust you? Starts to settle? Starts to believe things might actually be okay?

    That's what this organisation is built around. And they're looking for a Team Leader who gets that and wants to be part of it.

    They are a small, Outstanding rated and genuinely brilliant to work for. The leadership team have spent their entire careers in the care sector and have built something they're proud of, a warm, non-hierarchical culture where staff are invested in, ideas are welcomed and progression is real. Everyone knows everyone and nobody is just a number.

    These homes support young people aged 5-18 who have experienced significant trauma, neglect, domestic violence, parental substance misuse, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), sexual abuse, and family breakdown. Many children arrive unable to attend school, struggling with self-harm, missing episodes, or with high emotional and behavioural support needs.

    The role

    You'll lead shifts, be a named key worker for young people in the home, and support the staff alongside you to do their best work. You'll know your young people properly, their stories, what helps, what doesn't and what they're working towards.

    Days run 7am–10pm, waking nights 9:30pm–7:30am, weekends included and sleep-ins are part of the role.

    Experience in residential care or SEMH, a real commitment to therapeutic parenting, a Level 3 (or working towards it) and genuine flexibility across shifts. Most importantly, the kind of warmth, resilience and presence that young people feel straight away.
