How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team at a busy production facility in Harlow, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation offering long term stability and a varied working environment.

    The successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of production equipment and site services. You will play a key role in ensuring machinery operates efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting overall operational performance. This position would suit an electrically biased engineer who enjoys fault finding and working in a hands on role.

    This role would be particularly well suited to an ex-military engineer with a strong electrical background who is looking to secure a stable, well paid position within industry, offering the chance to apply existing skills while continuing to develop within a supportive engineering team.

    * Electrical Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across site equipment.

    * Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.

    * Support the continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance.

    * Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with site procedures.

    * Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records and schedules.

    * Work closely with production teams to support operational requirements.

    * Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely at all times.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

    * NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

    * Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Previous experience working within a production or manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

    * Ability to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance.

    * Good understanding of health and safety practices.

    * Self motivated with a proactive and hands on approach.

    * Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer Benefits:

    * Salary circa £50,000 depending on experience.

    * Working hours 7am to 5pm and 5am to 3pm.

    * 30 days holiday including bank holidays.

    * Full training on machinery will be provided.

    * Opportunity to join a stable and established organisation.

    * Pension scheme.

    NOTE: Our client encourages applications from candidates from both commercial and ex-military backgrounds; Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, particularly those with a strong electrical engineering bias
