How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this is a varied role combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. You will shape how we engage our people, strengthen our culture, and present the Trust confidently and authentically to external audiences.

With impact across internal engagement, recruitment, reputation and community relationships, this role plays a key part in how we tell our story and support our people.

    What you’ll be doing

    You will:

    * Lead and deliver a Trust-wide communications and engagement strategy that strengthens connection and clarity

    * Develop and manage internal communications, ensuring staff feel informed, listened to and valued

    * Act as the Trust’s brand guardian, maintaining a consistent tone, identity and narrative

    * Oversee marketing and digital channels, including website, social media and campaigns

    * Create engaging, people-centred content that reflects the Trust’s culture, values and impact

    * Lead external communications and PR, including media engagement and stakeholder messaging

    * Support with reputation management and contribute to crisis communication planning

    * Work closely with senior leaders to communicate priorities, change and key messages effectively

    * Lead and develop a small team, ensuring high-quality delivery and clear priorities

    * Use insight, data and feedback to continuously improve communications and engagement

    What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who can think strategically and deliver practically, with the confidence to work across a complex organisation and influence at senior level.

    You will have:

    * Significant experience in communications, engagement, marketing or PR

    * Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences

    * Experience managing digital platforms, social media and content

    * The ability to translate strategy into clear, practical delivery

    * Strong relationship-building skills and confidence working with senior leaders

    * Experience supporting organisational change through effective communication

    * A collaborative and values-led approach, aligned to the Futura Way
