How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    English Teacher - Northampton
    Location: Northampton
    Start Date: September 2026 or April 2026
    Contract: Full-Time | Contract or Permanent

    Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher who loves sparking curiosity in students through language, literature, and creative expression? Do you want to work in a school where your ideas, energy, and expertise are truly valued?

    We are partnering with forward-thinking secondary schools in Northampton seeking passionate English Teachers for September 2026 or April 2026. These full-time roles offer either contract or permanent opportunities and are perfect for experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) eager to grow in a supportive environment.

    About the Role:

    Teach inspiring and interactive English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 optional depending on experience)
    Develop creative lesson plans that engage students in reading, writing, and critical thinking
    Support learners of all abilities, including those with SEND or EAL needs, through differentiated teaching
    Encourage discussion, debate, and creative exploration through literature and drama
    Track, assess, and provide feedback to ensure every student can reach their full potential
    Contribute to department initiatives, literacy projects, and extracurricular activities such as school productions or writing clubsWho We're Looking For:

    Qualified English teachers (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong knowledge of Language and Literature
