How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Customer Service - Credit Control Team (Hybrid)

    Location: South Gyle, Edinburgh
    Salary: £25,000 per annum
    Contract: Permanent, Full‑Time (36.25 hours per week, 9am-5pm)
    Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office/2 days home)

    The Role

    You'll be joining a small, close‑knit Credit Control team where collaboration, support and development are genuinely valued. While this role involves managing sensitive financial conversations, you'll be supported every step of the way with structured training, approachable colleagues, and clear opportunities to grow your skills and progression within the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Customer Service Excellence
    Handle inbound and outbound customer calls with a friendly, professional, and confident approach, ensuring a positive and empathetic customer experience

    Account & Debt Management
    Manage your own ledger of customer accounts, supporting customers with payment solutions and negotiating payment plans where required

    Team Collaboration
    Work as part of a small, supportive team that shares knowledge, supports one another, and works together to achieve team objectives

    Learning & Development
    Build your understanding of credit control processes with full training provided, developing confidence in managing more complex customer queries over time

    Process Improvement
    Contribute ideas to improve customer experience and internal processes in a team that values your input

    Reporting & Administration
    Assist with reporting on account performance and carry out customer account reconciliations

    Skills & Experience Required

    Proven customer service experience (call‑based or customer‑facing roles welcome)
    Clear, confident and professional communication skills
    Resilient and able to handle challenging or sensitive conversations with support from the team
    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
    Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
    A positive attitude and desire to learn and progress your career
