How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Stafford - Long Term Cover Role - Start Date: After Easter Term

    Academics are currently seeking for a caring and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Catholic primary school in the heart of Stafford. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to provide tailored, individual support to pupils with additional needs within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

    This role will involve working on a 1:1 basis, supporting a Reception child and there is also another opportunity to work within the same school supporting a Year 4 pupil. The school is a highly regarded, reputable Catholic school, which has been rated "Good" by Ofsted and is known for its strong values, welcoming community, and a deep commitment to supporting every child to reach their full potential. You will be required to work a 5 day working week, in order to support the pupil on a daily basis - the hours of work are 8:30am - 15:30 pm Monday to Friday.

    The role includes:

    Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Reception.
    Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis in a Year 4 class.
    Assisting with day-to-day learning activities, engagement and emotional development.
    Implementing a variety of strategies to support individual learning needs to tailor to the needs of your pupil.
    Supporting with personal care where necessary, in a respectful and dignified manner.
    Working closely alongside the class teacher, SENCO, wider staff team and any external professionals.What we are looking for:

    An experienced Teaching Assistant, who is committed to supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
    Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (Essential).
    Have valuable experience in supporting children with SEN, whether this is on a 1:1 or group basis.
    Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils' academic and personal development.
    Somebody who is able to jump straight in; able to build strong, trusting relationships with staff, pupils and parents.
    The ability to manage behaviour in a calm, positive, and reassuring way, confidently implementing the school's behaviour policies and adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
    You will be working on a temporary basis, supporting one of our partner schools in the heart of Stafford
    Somebody who holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.Pay: £93 - £105 a day (dependent on experience) holiday pay is included in the day rate.
