How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Junior Electrical Engineer
    Location: Bristol (Hybrid working available)

    The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking building services consultancy based in Bristol. This is an ideal role for a graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop within a collaborative environment, working on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
The business specialises in delivering high-quality mechanical, electrical, and sustainability design solutions, with a strong focus on innovation, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design.
You’ll gain exposure to projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, supporting designs from concept through to delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of electrical building services systems (power, lighting, small power, containment)
Support senior engineers with project delivery across all RIBA stages
Produce calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
Contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions (including low-carbon technologies)
Attend site visits, surveys, and client meetings
Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, architects, and wider design teams
Assist with reports including feasibility studies, condition surveys, and performance assessments

    Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar
Basic understanding of electrical design within the built environment
Familiarity with UK regulations and standards (e.g. BS7671, Part L)
Some experience with design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech - beneficial but not essential)
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
    A proactive and collaborative mindset

    What’s on Offer

Structured training and mentorship from experienced engineers
Exposure to a wide variety of projects and sectors
Opportunity to work on sustainable and innovative design solutions
Clear progression pathway towards Engineer and Senior Engineer level
Support towards professional accreditation (e.g. CEng / IEng)
    Flexible working environment

    About the Role
This position would suit someone at graduate level or with 1–2 years’ experience looking to build a career within a modern, agile consultancy. You’ll be joining a close-knit team where collaboration, quality, and innovation are key, and where engineers are encouraged to contribute ideas and grow quickly within the business
