How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

This 12 month fixed‑term role offers a fantastic opportunity for a Design & Development Engineer to take responsibility for technically challenging, hands‑on engineering work. You'll support product development through analysis, validation, issue‑resolution, and multidisciplinary collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

    Client Details

My client is a respected global engineering organisation working at the forefront of advanced component design and manufacturing. They support global customers, operate within safety‑critical environments, and offer engineers the chance to work on meaningful, complex technical programmes within a structured and supportive environment.

    Description

    Key Responsibilities

Complete application reviews, engineering calculations, tolerance studies, and technical analyses to support product decisions.
Process, analyse, and interpret technical test data to drive improvements in quality, performance, and reliability.
Investigate product issues, determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and support resolution activities.
Follow structured engineering processes including ESW, iDFMEA, and participation in incident review groups.
Develop, coordinate, and execute validation test programmes, including reporting results to key stakeholders.
Conduct technical reviews with customers and suppliers to understand requirements, risks, and design interfaces.
Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers or student placements.
Coordinate component/subsystem engineering activities across PPT, VPI, and CPS product lifecycle processes.

    Profile

    Ideal Candidate

Strong foundation in mechanical or automotive engineering, with the ability to move between theoretical analysis and hands‑on practical application.
Solid understanding of materials, stress/strain theory, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Proficient in engineering tools such as Creo and Windchill.
Excellent communication skills, including technical reporting, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with modern engineering tools and processes; ability to contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.
Degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field; postgraduate qualification beneficial but not essential.
Experience in regulated or safety‑critical environments is advantageous.
Programming or Python experience for data acquisition would be a plus.

    Job Offer

Excellent salary and benefits package reflective of the technical level and responsibility of the role.
12‑month fixed‑term contract with a highly respected engineering organisation
