How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1:1 Visual Impairment Support Assistant (Full-Time)
    Location: Bromley-By-Bow
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:40pm

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Visual Impairment Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in East London that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

    This is a rewarding opportunity for a 1:1 Visual Impairment Support Assistant to work closely with a student who requires tailored support to access learning and thrive within the school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting independence, confidence, and engagement both in and outside the classroom.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Provide 1:1 support for a student with visual impairment needs

    * Adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility

    * Support the student’s social, emotional, and academic development

    * Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

    * Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in line with the school’s ethos

    As a 1:1 Visual Impairment Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in helping the student navigate both their learning and social experiences in a supportive and structured setting.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    * Have experience working with young people with Visual Impairment

    * Be patient, resilient, and empathetic

    * Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

    * Be a positive role model who can build trust and rapport

    * Show a genuine commitment to supporting diverse communities and backgrounds

    * Have experience working in SEND/SEMH settings
