How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Thrive Oldham is recruiting for a reliable Picker/Packer with heavy lifting working on the conveyor belt to be working for our client in Chadderton area with previous long‑term experience in similar roles.

    What you will be doing:

    Packing and Picking items and transporting them to the packing area.

    Working on the end of conveyor belt so heavy lifting is involved, therefore candidates must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.

    You must be able to reach daily targets given by your supervisor.

    What you will need to succeed:

    A strong work history with long contracts in past positions is essential, demonstrating commitment and consistency

    Must be able to read and follow instructions in English language, have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and be a team player.

    you must have an experience in picking and packing and IT knowledge (Office knowledge and use of warehousing software).

    Any warehouse vehicle machinery certificates or experience in driving LLOP/PPT/FLT is a plus. Candidates would be open to do overtime with short or same day notice according to business needs.

    Candidates would need to be comfortable with doing walk picking as training for vehicles is not performed until the training has finished.

    The ideal candidate is hardworking, accurate, and willing to learn how to operate machinery as part of their development.

    What you will receive in return:

    Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour

    Contract: long term ongoing/temporary
    Area: Chadderton
    Hours: Monday - Friday

    Possible shifts include part‑time hours or full‑time hours, but unfortunately it isn't your choice to decide between them. There must be consideration the distance you will need to travel in case you are offered part‑time hours with flexibility to work overtime/additional hours.:

    12:00-20:00
    13:00-21:00
    12:00-16:00
    16:00-20:00After a successful interview, you can start immediately

    PLEASE NOTE: Prior to starting with our client a rapid drug screening test and DBS check will be required on all successful candidates, candidate should not have any preeboked holidays.
