How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for an experienced Section Engineer to oversee and manage a defined earthworks section of works on a major civil engineering project. The role involves ensuring technical compliance, coordinating site activities, and maintaining quality and safety standards across all operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Delivery:

    Manage and supervise a section of works, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and programme.

    Coordinate with Setting Out Engineers and site teams to ensure accurate execution of works.

    Technical Oversight:

    Review drawings, specifications, and method statements for assigned section.

    Provide technical guidance and resolve on-site issues promptly.

    Quality Assurance & Documentation:

    Maintain and update Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure compliance with quality standards.

    Prepare and review site diaries, progress reports, and as-built records.

    Site Coordination:

    Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.

    Attend and contribute to site meetings, ensuring clear communication of requirements.

    Health & Safety:

    Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.

    Promote a safe working environment and address any hazards immediately.

    Qualifications & Skills

    Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

    Proven experience as a Section Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

    Strong understanding of earthworks, setting out, and construction methodologies.

    Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

    Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying instruments
