You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the Council’s municipal fleet, ensuring all work meets required legal and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and repairs on municipal vehicles
* Diagnose faults using specialist equipment and present findings
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety and regulatory standards
* Provide advice and guidance on vehicle maintenance and repairs
* Undertake physically demanding repair work
* Liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, and the public
* Support service improvement and contribute to policy development
* Complete all relevant documentation and reports
Requirements:
* Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification
* Cat C & D1 driving licences
* DCPC card and digital tachograph card
* Experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, or fleet repair
* Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
* Good communication and IT skills (Microsoft Office)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* Experience in municipal fleet maintenance or inspection/audit processes
* Knowledge of local government operations
* Willingness to undertake Category C licence training (if required)
Hours & Pay:
* Tuesday to Thursday, 7:30am – 5:15pm.
* £17.12 per hour.
* Weekly pay (via agency)
