How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Building Physics Consultant

    Milton Keynes (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

    We’re working with a well-established and forward-thinking Building Services Design Consultancy looking to appoint a Building Physics Consultant to support their expanding sustainability and building performance team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for building performance and energy modelling to work on a diverse range of projects, delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions.

    The Role

    As a Building Physics Consultant, you will:

    Deliver building performance analysis across a range of projects
    Support the design team with energy-efficient and sustainable solutions
    Carry out modelling and simulation to inform design decisions
    Work closely with clients, architects, and engineers
    Assist in the delivery of compliance and sustainability strategies
    Contribute to project reports and technical documentationTechnical Responsibilities

    Dynamic simulation modelling using IES VE
    Part L compliance (SBEM) and EPC production
    Overheating assessments (TM52 / TM59 / Part O)
    Operational energy modelling (TM54)
    Daylight and thermal comfort analysis
    Support with low and zero carbon strategiesAbout You

    Degree in Building Physics, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or similar
    Experience in a building physics or sustainability role
    Proficiency with IES VE (essential)
    Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and compliance
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
    Able to attend the Milton Keynes office 2 days per weekWhat’s on Offer
