This will be 5 days on site in Cambridge due to the nature of the role, so if you're seeking hybrid or remote working, or aren't based in the UK, this won't be for you unfortunately.
Ypu will be responsible for shaping and delivering testing activities across both manual and automated approaches, supporting a mix of new developments and existing platforms. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Conformance, and Business Support teams to drive improvements in product quality and overall efficiency.

So, what will you be doing?
Creating and running test suites across functional, regression, system, and performance areas to ensure products meet required standards
Validating software and applications against defined requirements, identifying and documenting defects
Analysing requirements provided by internal product teams and external stakeholders
Supporting all stages of the testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, defect management, and reporting
Maintaining clear and accurate documentation to track quality and test coverage
Building and executing both manual and automated test cases across communication-based systems
Working alongside software, hardware, and systems engineers to troubleshoot issues and support resolution
Ensuring test environments, tools, and hardware setups are maintained and fit for purpose
Contributing to design and requirement discussions, ensuring testability is considered early
Providing guidance and support to less experienced team membersThe role may involve occasional travel, so a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and a valid passport are required. Travel costs will be reimbursed. There may also be a requirement to undergo Security Clearance at a later stage.
Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a similar discipline
Eligibility to meet UK security clearance requirements
ISTQB certification is advantageousExperience:
Strong communication skills combined with a solid technical foundation
Around 5+ years’ experience in both manual and automated testing, ideally within embedded, telecoms, or other complex systems
Experience testing integrated software and hardware solutions
Exposure to communication technologies such as LTE or TETRA would be beneficial
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience working within Agile delivery environmentsTechnical capability:
Awareness of protocol and RF testing, along with communication interfaces such as TCP/IP, UDP, Serial, or Bluetooth
Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Jama)
Practical experience with automation and testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Postman, or JMeter
Understanding of API and backend testing approaches
