How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Audio Visual (AV) Engineer

    Salary: up to £32,000 per annum
    Location: Durham or nearby
    Employment type: Permanent, full-time

    About the Opportunity:

    We are looking for a skilled Audio Visual (AV) Engineer to join a busy, growing team in the North East. This is a hands-on, Field-based Installation and Service Engineer role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working on different client sites, and solving technical challenges.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Install and support AV and digital signage equipment at client locations

    * Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV and IT systems

    * Prepare and build equipment for installations

    * Liaise professionally with clients on-site

    * Complete installation and service reports accurately

    * Follow all Health & Safety procedures

    * Support the team with other tasks as required

    Working Area:

    * Mainly North East England, with occasional travel to Yorkshire, East Midlands, and a small portion of Scotland

    * Minimal travel to the main office in Manchester for training purposes

    Your Skills and Experience:

    * Experience in AV, IT, or networking installation roles

    * Strong technical installation skills

    * Comfortable working independently across multiple sites

    * Good organisation and communication skills

    * Able to work at heights and use ladders safely
