How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: HVAC Engineer
    Location: Swindon
    Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a HVAC Engineer to join a facilities team within a critical healthcare environment in Swindon.

    This is a key role supporting the safe and efficient operation of ventilation and HVAC systems across a busy hospital site, directly contributing to critical environments and patient care.

    The Role:

    • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across ventilation systems.
    • Fault finding, servicing and repair of AHUs and associated ductwork systems.
    • Supporting the operation and compliance of ventilation and LEV systems.
    • Completing room balancing and airflow testing using specialist equipment.
    • Reviewing technical documentation, commissioning data and system performance.
    • Assisting with mechanical and general building services maintenance when required.
    • Ensuring all works are completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards.
    • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities.

    Package:

    • Salary up to £45,000
    • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

    Requirements:

    • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant mechanical discipline.
    • Experience working within HVAC or building services environments.
    • Strong understanding of ventilation systems (HTM knowledge desirable).
    • Ability to fault find and carry out maintenance on mechanical plant.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
