How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Client George (18) is a bright, funny and engaging young man with a big personality and a fantastic sense of humour. He loves banter, sharing funny videos and talking about his interests, especially planes and aviation. He built his own flight simulator at home and is currently working towards his private pilot’s license. He enjoys travel (particularly flying), photography (with weekly work experience at a fashion photography studio), drumming, cookery, golf and loves dogs. George has a diagnosis of ASC, ADHD, anxiety, PDA, dyslexia, and dyspraxia, and can experience low mood and low self-esteem at times. He is currently attending a specialist college, where he is working towards Functional Skills qualifications. George thrives on routine and predictability and can become anxious or overwhelmed by sudden changes or social pressures, sometimes leading to dysregulation. On his best days, he is motivated, capable, and full of energy; on more difficult days, he may become withdrawn or reactive when feeling overwhelmed.
The Role at a Glance This role involves supporting George throughout his structured week, helping him navigate between college, work experience, and individual lessons, typically within a 20-minute radius of home. During term time, the focus is collecting him after his first session, driving him to the next, and supporting him during gaps with low-pressure, engaging time such as having lunch, chatting, or encouraging small tasks. The role requires being a calm, consistent presence, particularly when plans change or anxiety increases, helping George stay regulated and engaged. It also includes supporting him to access community activities linked to his interests, building confidence and life skills at his pace, and liaising with his mum and relevant professionals as needed. During college holidays there will be a greater focus on interest-led activities such as aviation experiences, golf, and trips that gently encourage independence and broaden his experiences.
This Job Would Suit The role is ideal for someone who will enjoy sharing George’s passions, particularly planes and aviation, and who is keen to support him over the next few years as he transitions into young adulthood—exploring what work, apprenticeships, and routines look like as he phases out of college. It will appeal to someone who is confident managing anxiety and PDA-led behaviours with a low-demand, flexible approach. Someone who understands the importance of consistency, routine, and emotional regulation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable spending time “in the moment” with George—whether that’s travelling between activities, sitting in a café, or engaging in his interests—while gently encouraging independence and confidence. A good sense of humour and a genuine interest in his hobbies will be key.
Why You’ll Love This Role You’ll have the chance to make a real difference in George’s life, helping him gain confidence, independence, and new experiences, while building a strong, rewarding one-to-one relationship. You’ll work alongside a supportive family and a dedicated team of professionals, shaping his next steps and seeing the tangible impact of your guidance.
