How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Accomodation paid for - Up to £50 per hour - 4/5 days of training in May Half term - Adult education
    Location: Aberdeen
    Job Title: Renewables Trainer
    Pay and working hours:
    * Per hour/Salary: up to £50 per hour
    * Working hours: 1 week in May Half term initially with scope for ongoing work in holidays (Dates required are from 25/05/2026 to 29/05/2026 initially)
    The successful candidate must hold recognised Solar PV and Battery Storage Systems qualifications, be a qualified tradesperson (in a mechanical or electrical discipline), and ideally, possess experience in teaching/training. You should also hold an Assessor's qualification.
    Key Responsibilities:
    * Knowledge and qualified in Solar PV & BESS & EESS
    * Delivery of these short course to adult students
    To be successful in this role, you will hold the following essential qualifications:
    * Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
    * Electrical Energy Storage Systems (Battery Storage)
    * Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671)
    * And one of the following:
    * Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) (2357)
    * Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357)
    * Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (5357)
    * Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker (2356)
    * Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services - Electrical Installation (Building and Structures)
    * Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346)
    * Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings
    * EAL Building Services Engineering (Level 3) - Electrotechnical
