How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

SEN Teacher – SEMH School (DT, Art & Cooking) | Harlow

We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Harlow on a full-time basis. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by delivering engaging, practical learning experiences that help pupils re-engage with education.

The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream settings. The provision offers a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment where positive relationships, consistency, and individual progress are at the heart of everything.

    About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Design Technology, Art, and Cooking / Food Technology
Plan and adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning, emotional, and behavioural needs of pupils across KS2–KS4
Use creative and practical subjects to build confidence, resilience, and engagement in learning
Develop positive, trusting relationships that support pupils’ emotional regulation and personal development
Create a calm, structured, and predictable classroom environment that promotes safety and success
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and other professionals to support pupil progress
Assess and monitor both academic achievement and personal development outcomes
Encourage pupils to develop essential life skills, creativity, and independence through practical learning
    The School Offers

Small class sizes, typically 8–10 pupils, with strong support staff presence
Well-equipped learning spaces for DT, Art, and Cooking
A strong focus on nurture, therapeutic approaches, and relational practice
A highly supportive and collaborative staff team
Ongoing professional development and training opportunities within SEN / SEMH education
A welcoming and purposeful environment where every child is valued and supported to succeed
    The Ideal Candidate Will Have

    QTS or QTLS (essential)
Experience teaching DT, Art, Food Technology, Cooking, or practical subjects
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs
A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching
Strong behaviour management skills built on consistency and understanding
The ability to adapt teaching for a wide range of academic and emotional needs
A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialist setting where your teaching can have a direct and lasting impact on pupils’ lives. Practical and creative subjects can be transformational for young people with SEMH needs, helping them build confidence, express themselves, and develop valuable life skills for the future.

TLTP Group is an Equal Opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to appropriate vetting checks.

We also offer a Refer and Earn scheme — earn £250 for every successful referral (terms and conditions apply)
