How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Practitioner | PASS Team | Thurrock

£35ph | The Vanguard of Early Help

Are you tired of just managing crisis? It’s time to lead the prevention.

Thurrock Council’s Prevention and Support Service (PASS) isn’t just another local authority team; it is a high-impact, multidisciplinary engine designed to keep families safe, together, and out of the statutory system. We are looking for a Senior Practitioner who doesn't just follow the "Team Around the Family" model but champions it.

    The Role: Beyond Case Management

As a Senior Practitioner in Grays, you aren’t just holding a caseload; you are a clinical anchor for the service. You will bridge the gap between targeted intervention and statutory prevention.

    *

Lead the Intervention: Deliver sophisticated, direct work with families facing domestic abuse, mental health challenges, and substance misuse.

    *

Architect of Best Practice: Provide the high-level consultation and mentoring that elevates the practice of the entire multidisciplinary team.

    *

Strategic Support: Act as the right hand to the Team Manager, stepping into leadership to ensure service continuity and safety.

    *

The PASS Ecosystem: Work alongside Social Workers, Youth Workers, and Outreach Specialists in a truly integrated environment.

    Are You the Right Fit?

We aren't just looking for two years of experience; we are looking for a specialist in family resilience.

    *

Credentialed: Qualified Social Worker (SWE Registered) with completed ASYE.

    *

Experienced: A minimum of 2 years in Children’s Services with a proven track record in high-level risk assessment.

    *

A Mentor: Someone who finds professional fulfillment in upskilling less experienced staff and "deputizing" with confidence.

    *

Child-Centric: A practitioner who can navigate complex parental issues (separation, trauma) while keeping the child’s voice at the absolute centre of every decision.

    Why Partner with [Agency Name]?

In a market full of "recruiters," we act as career consultants. We don't just find you a job; we manage your professional trajectory.

    *

Exclusive Access: We hold direct relationships with Thurrock leadership, often filling roles before they hit the general market.

    *

Compliance Without the Headache: A streamlined, digital onboarding process that gets you on-site faster.

    *

Dedicated Advocacy: Your consultant is your negotiator, ensuring your expertise is rewarded with the best possible terms.

    *

Market Intelligence: Real-time insights into local authority shifts to keep you ahead of the curve.

    Redefine "Early Help." Apply Today.

If you have the clinical skill to prevent escalation and the leadership drive to support a team, Thurrock’s PASS team is your next professional home
