How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Zen Educate is looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time, long-term placement at a forward-thinking secondary academy in North Bristol.

    This role is scheduled to start after the Easter break and will continue until the end of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive department during a key period of the school calendar. You will have full teaching responsibilities, including planning, preparation, and marking.

    Location: North Bristol (BS11 area) Salary: Competitive daily rates (Paid weekly) Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Duration: April – July (Post-Easter start)

    The Role: Impactful Science Teaching

    In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be joining a school that prides itself on high aspirations and providing students with the tools they need to succeed in a modern world.

    Key Responsibilities:

    *

    Curriculum Delivery: Planning and teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to students of varying abilities.

    *

    Exam Preparation: Supporting Year 10 and 11 students as they approach their final assessments and practicals.

    *

    Student Engagement: Using creative practicals and theory lessons to foster a genuine interest in STEM subjects.

    *

    Assessment & Progress: Tracking pupil data and providing constructive feedback to ensure all students reach their potential.

    *

    Safety: Maintaining rigorous health and safety standards within the laboratory environment.

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential (ECTs with strong subject knowledge are encouraged to apply).

    Subject Versatility: The ability to teach all three Sciences at KS3 and KS4.
