How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Agent / Junior Project Manager – Environment Agency Framework (Devon & Cornwall)

    Carmichael UK

    Carmichael UK is seeking a motivated Agent / Junior Project Manager to support early works Environment Agency Framework across Devon and Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a high‑profile civil engineering environment, working closely with clients, designers, and suppliers to help deliver essential infrastructure and environmental works.

    This role will be hybrid, with travel expected throughout both counties to various sites and offices.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support early supplier engagement activities across the framework.

    Manage small works packages, including ground investigations and survey operations at remote locations.

    Ensure full compliance with the client’s SHE Code of Practice.

    Produce and review RAMS, CPPs, and quality documentation.

    Maintain strong working relationships with clients, customers, designers, and suppliers.

    Oversee site activities and ensure safe, efficient delivery.

    Apply sound knowledge of buried services processes and site management practices.

    Essential Requirements

    SMSTS

    First Aid at Work

    Background in construction management or civil engineering

    Proven site management experience, ideally managing small or remote works independently

    Strong understanding of buried services processes

    Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Experience authoring RAMS, CPPs, and quality documentation

    Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills

    Desirable Skills

    Knowledge of NEC4

    Experience in programme management

    AutoCAD capability
