How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The below job description will outline this position of: Business Development Manager

    Typically, this person will be responsible for driving commercial growth within the marine division, identifying new chartering opportunities, and strengthening relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business across offshore energy projects.

    HSB Technical’s client is an established and well-regarded business entity, operating globally within the offshore energy sector, delivering critical infrastructure and marine support services.

    Duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

    * Identify and pursue new business opportunities to enhance revenue and profitability

    * Support and manage business development processes, ensuring accurate use of CRM systems (Salesforce)

    * Work closely with the Chartering Manager to develop and implement effective BD strategies

    * Assist in the preparation of tenders, commercial proposals and contract documentation

    * Deliver presentations to clients and internal stakeholders where required

    * Collaborate with operations teams to ensure successful project delivery and contractual compliance

    * Monitor project performance and flag any risks or shortfalls against client expectations

    * Track and report on sales and invoicing activity across the vessel fleet

    * Build and maintain strong relationships through regular engagement with new and existing clients

    * Support marketing initiatives to enhance brand presence within the marine sector

    * Produce pipeline and performance reports for senior management

    * Assist with the coordination and attendance of industry and corporate events

    Qualifications and requirements for the Business Development Manager:

    * Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a similar business development or commercial role

    * Good understanding of the offshore renewable energy or marine sector, would consider someone with a strong engineering background.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

    * Experience working alongside marine operations teams

    * Willingness to travel internationally (UK, Europe, Asia and Americas)

    * Must have the right to work in the UK
