SEN Teaching Assistant – Communication, Autism & SEMH Focus

    Near Attleborough, Norfolk

    Full-Time | Term Time Only

Pay: £14.30 – £16 per hour (dependent on experience)

    Start Date: asap

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young lives?

Would you love to work in a school surrounded by nature, with 4 on-site forest schools, a truly supportive team, and pupils who thrive through creativity, connection and calm?

We are working with a fun, nurturing and highly specialist school near Attleborough, Norfolk, which supports children and young people aged 5 - 16 with communication needs, Autism, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a setting where learning takes place beyond the classroom, in fields, woods and purpose-built therapeutic spaces.

    🌲 Why this school?

Stunning rural setting with acres of outdoor learning space

Four dedicated forest schools supporting sensory and nature-based learning

Highly supportive leadership who invest in your training and wellbeing

A creative, whole-child approach focused on emotional literacy and communication

A team who laugh together, learn together and lift each other up

    🌟 The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, guided by experienced teachers and therapists

Help implement individual communication and behaviour plans

Assist in a range of indoor and outdoor learning activities, including forest school sessions

Foster positive relationships built on trust, empathy and patience

Be part of a team making a genuine difference every day

    ✅ You’ll Need:

A calm, caring and resilient approach

A genuine passion for working with children with SEN, particularly Autism and SEMH

Experience in SEN (preferred but not essential – full training available)

Your own transport, as the school is in a beautiful rural location not accessible by public transport

A willingness to be active, creative and hands-on

    🎁 What You’ll Get:

Hourly rate of £14.01 – £15.40 (depending on experience)

Access to free CPD training through Inspire EHC

Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant

The opportunity to be part of something truly special

    Important Information:

All applicants will be subject to a full vetting process in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, including an enhanced DBS check and referencing.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide Sponsorship for this role at this time.

If you’re ready to swap fluorescent lights for forest trails, and want to be part of a school where every day is purposeful and uplifting, we’d love to hear from you
