How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    Working closely with fabrication and QA teams, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day inspection of welding and dimensional activities. The role plays a critical part in maintaining quality standards, supporting production schedules, and ensuring compliance with industry and client requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Conduct pre-, during-, and post-weld inspections, ensuring compliance with procedures and specifications

    * Verify material traceability, joint preparation, fit-up, and welding environments

    * Perform visual and dimensional inspections on structural, pipework, and vessel assemblies

    * Ensure correct welding procedures and qualified personnel are used for all tasks

    * Coordinate NDT and mechanical testing activities

    * Prepare and maintain weld maps, weld logs, and inspection reports

    * Review weld quality, including radiographs where applicable

    * Identify and manage non-conformances, including investigation and reporting

    * Support QA documentation and ensure ISO quality standards are upheld

    * Liaise with third-party inspectors and client representatives

    * Monitor welding performance, including welder audits and process data recording

    * Promote and maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance

    Requirements

    * CSWIP 3.1 certification (or equivalent, in-date)

    * Strong knowledge of welding processes including MMA, TIG, MIG, MAG, Flux Core, and Sub Arc

    * Experience working with a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium

    * Ability to interpret engineering drawings (structural, piping, P&ID, and isometrics)

    * Familiarity with NDT methods and quality documentation

    * Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

    Personal Attributes

    * High attention to detail and strong quality focus

    * Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently

    * Strong communication and organisational skills

    * A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a hands-on mindset

    What’s on Offer

    * Opportunity to work within a well-established fabrication environment

    * Exposure to a variety of complex and high-quality engineering projects

    * A role where you can make a direct impact on quality and operational excellence

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector looking to further develop their career within a dynamic and quality-driven environment
