How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Step Into Project Engineering or Take Your Next Step Up

Are you an Electrical Engineer, Site Engineer or Commissioning Engineer looking to move into a Project Engineer role?

Or already a Project Engineer looking for more varied, large-scale industrial projects?

We’re working with a growing engineering business delivering complex automation, manufacturing and industrial installation projects across the UK — and they’re looking to add a Project Engineer to their team.

    Why This Role?

    • Genuine progression into Project Manager roles
    • Large-scale industrial and automation projects across the UK
    • Opportunity to move off the tools into full project delivery
    • Strong pipeline of secured work — long-term stability
    • Involvement across the full project lifecycle (not just one phase)

    The Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of electrical and industrial projects from design through to installation and commissioning.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Site Teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification.

Based in the West Midlands with regular UK travel.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Supporting delivery of electrical and industrial engineering projects
    • Assisting with planning, coordination and scheduling
    • Working with design, installation and commissioning teams
    • Supporting procurement of materials and equipment
    • Attending site during installation, testing and commissioning
    • Ensuring compliance with RAMS and site safety procedures
    • Monitoring progress, reporting updates and resolving issues
    • Providing technical support to engineers and site teams

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential:
    • Electrical or engineering background (industrial / manufacturing / automation)
    • Experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance or project environments
    • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
    • Strong organisation and communication skills
    • Full UK Driving Licence
    • Willingness to travel

    Desirable (NOT essential):
    • Previous Project Engineer experience
    • Background in automation, conveyors, FMCG or material handling
    • HNC / HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
    • Experience working on industrial sites
