How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We’re looking for an Operations Process Specialist to join our Policy Development team within Lifesaving Operations. The Policy Development team provides strategic support services, developing policies, processes and standards that ensure we maintain a sustainable and effective lifesaving service. This role will support Lifesaving Operations to deliver the strategic objectives through effective management of processes and change implementation.

    Your role

    As an Operations Process Specialist, you will focus on the following areas:

    - Stakeholder engagement and change implementation within Lifesaving Operations, managing the flow of information to stakeholders for effective change delivery
    - Developing and managing processes and their governance, acting as a key influencer of best practice
    - Measuring and reporting on process performance, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
    - Working with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of processes

    Some current work includes managing the process and stakeholder engagement for lifeboat asset changes, meritorious awards for volunteers and station recognition.

    About you

    Key to your success will be the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders of all levels and use your initiative and influence to ensure processes are followed and projects are delivered within the desired timeframes. You will be part of a team that ensures the RNLI has the right resources, in the right place and working in the right way to most effectively save lives at sea.

    To be considered as the Operations Process Specialist, you will need:

    - Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills, supporting the implementation of projects which rely on input from departments across the organisation
    - Experience supporting people through change, to lead teams through complex processes
    - Project management skills and the ability to apply knowledge of process management tools to real-life scenarios
    - To be able to summarise complex information in a simple, logical manner and communicate this effectively with technical and non-technical members of interdisciplinary teams
    - The ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a timely manner
    - To be flexible and adaptable in approach, and highly self-motivated
    - The ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment to deliver the required results
    - Excellent attention to detail
