How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role
    Anderson Knight Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established business on the outskirts of Edinburgh to recruit a confident and proactive HR Adviser. This is a true generalist role, supporting site-based HR operations in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
    The position will involve travel within Scotland, partnering with managers and employees across multiple locations, so a full driving licence is essential. While you will operate as the primary HR contact on site, you will also be part of a wider HR function, giving you access to ongoing support, collaboration, and professional guidance.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Provide practical, expert HR advice to managers on a broad range of employee relations matters
    * Manage end-to-end HR casework including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues
    * Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities
    * Ensure consistent application of HR policies and compliance with current employment legislation
    * Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support business growth and improvement
    * Maintain accurate HR records and produce reports as required
    * Build strong, credible relationships with stakeholders across multiple sites
    About You
    * Demonstrated experience in a generalist HR role, ideally with exposure to standalone working
    * Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
    * Confident managing a varied and often high-volume ER caseload independently
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    * Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
    * Flexible and willing to travel across Scotland as required
    * CIPD qualified or currently working towards qualification (desirable)
