How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Aspire People is thrilled to be recruiting for dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join a newly built, state-of-the-art SEND secondary school in Dudley. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity, with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

    The School:
Located in Dudley, this newly built SEND secondary school features exceptional, purpose-designed facilities tailored to meet the needs of students with complex SEND. The school caters to students aged 11-19 with a range of needs, including (MLD), (SLD), (PMLD), Autism, and other complex needs. The modern, fully equipped environment ensures that students have the support and resources they need to succeed.

    The Role:

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, including those who are non-verbal or have communication difficulties. Your responsibilities will include:

1:1 and small group support: Assisting students to access the curriculum, make progress in their learning, and develop key communication skills.
Supporting non-verbal students: Using communication tools such as (PECS), picture symbols, and other communication tools to help students express themselves and engage in learning.
Building strong relationships: Establishing trust with students to motivate, engage, and nurture them.
Team collaboration: Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored, individualized support for each student.
Ensuring safety and wellbeing: Adhering to health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

    What We're Looking For:

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach when supporting students with SEND, especially those who are non-verbal or have communication challenges.
Experience with communication tools such as PECS, picture symbols, and other AAC methods is highly desirable.
A proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative when supporting students with complex needs.
A genuine passion for helping children and young people with complex needs thrive.
Previous experience in SEND (particularly PMLD/SLD and non-verbal communication) is desirable but not essential - enthusiasm and dedication are key!

    Minimum Requirements:

A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply).
Experience supporting students with PMLD/SLD and using communication tools (such as PECS and picture symbols) is desirable but not essential.

    What We Offer:

A dedicated Aspire People consultant to guide and support you throughout your placement.
    Competitive rates of pay.
Access to free online training and CPD to support your professional development.
The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs, including supporting communication development for non-verbal students.

    Why Join This School?
This new school offers not only modern, purpose-built facilities but also a supportive, inclusive environment where both staff and students thrive. You'll be part of a passionate team committed to providing high-quality, tailored support to students with complex needs, including those with communication difficulties.
