How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Astute's Renewables team is partnering with one of the world's leading companies in the wind energy industry, setting new standards in technological design for more than 30 years. We are working together to recruit an Electrical Works Project Manager to support the planning and delivery of electrical infrastructure across wind farm projects.

    This role offers a salary of up to £80,000 plus car allowance, and flexible hybrid working options, alongside a strong benefits package.

    Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Project Manager role

    Reporting to the Construction Manager you will:

    Provide expert technical guidance to customers, sales teams, and utilities on electrical works matters.
    Collaborate with the Project team to prepare customer proposals, bills of quantities, and technical specifications for suppliers.
    Support the design and planning of network connections in coordination with network operators.
    Assist Sales during the project initiation phase with planning, scheduling, and scope alignment.
    Ensure all electrical works are specified and implemented in line with Health & Safety standards and technical requirements.
    Support the Commercial team with contract and claim management activities.
    Manage subcontractor negotiations and coordination.
    Monitor project delivery to identify and resolve additional costs, delays, and construction issues alongside the Construction Manager.
    Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress.
    Drive project optimization initiatives in collaboration with the General Project Manager and other stakeholders.
    Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on all electrical matters throughout each project phase.
    Oversee work packages during the planning and installation of turbines, working closely with internal technical teams.

    Professional qualifications

    We are looking for someone with the following:

    Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a minimum Level 3 / HNC Electrical Engineering with specialised experience in power generation.
    Experience in power generation and electrical power systems.
    High voltage distribution experience.
    Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
    Project Management experience with an electrical or industrial focus.
    Strong understanding of SAP and SCADA systems is highly advantageous.
    Full, valid UK driving licence

    Personal skills

    The Electrical Project Manager role would suit someone who is:

    Able to work proactively, independently, or as part of a team.
    Willing to travel across the UK, Ireland, and internationally.
    Confident with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    Self-assured and able to handle challenging situations.
    Proficient in IT.
    Comfortable working at height.
