How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Registered Children’s Home Manager
    Location: Bromyard
    Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per year

    Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to lead a specialist residential children’s home in Bromyard.
    This service supports children and young people who present with challenging behaviours and harmful sexualised behaviours, and therefore requires a strong, experienced leader with a solid understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home operates to the highest standards while delivering safe, structured, and supportive care.
    Key Responsibilities

    Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
    Lead, develop, and support a residential staff team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
    Provide a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
    Manage and support young people presenting with challenging behaviours and harmful sexualised behaviours.
    Oversee care planning, behaviour management strategies, and individual risk assessments.
    Ensure robust safeguarding and child protection practices are embedded within the home.
    Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
    Work closely with social workers, therapists, families, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for young people.
    Manage staff performance through supervision, training, and professional development.
    Requirements

    Previous experience as a Registered Manager with Ofsted within a children’s residential home.
    Significant experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
    Experience working with or understanding harmful sexualised behaviours in young people is highly desirable.
    Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
    Strong leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and team management skills.
    Ability to manage complex behaviours and support staff in challenging situations.
    Full UK driving licence preferred.
